From Sunday 15 March onwards, the following will apply:

  • No entry for foreigners in the country.
  • 14-day home quarantine for persons entering the territory of the Republic of Poland.
  • Suspension of international passenger air and rail connections.
  • Borders will be open to the flow of goods.
  • From Saturday, the activities of shopping malls will be limited. Grocery stores, pharmacies and laundries will remain open there.
  • Charters are maintained, which Poles will be able to return to the country. Domestic aircraft, rail and car traffic remain unchanged.
  • All stores, banks and service outlets remain open.
  • All restaurants, pubs, clubs, bars and casinos will be closed for visiting for 14 days with the possibility of extension. It will be possible to order take-out food.
  • Meetings of over 50 people must not be held. This also applies to state and religious assemblies.

Ladies and Gentlemen

Due to the current epidemiological situation, the Rector of the University of Social Sciences, as of Wednesday, March 11, 2020, announces the following.

Effective from Thursday, 12 of March 2020 up to Wednesday 25 March 2020, in accordance with the decision announced by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin, all classes are henceforth canceled.

To limit the effects of temporary suspension of classes and delays in the program, in accordance with the Ministry's recommendations, the University is implementing appropriate solutions enabling education to continue in on-line mode.

Administrative departments will work during the suspension period. To reduce the epidemiological risk, please sort out current matters via telephone and e-mail communication.

We will inform you about further decisions of the University authorities regularly, so please check the messages on the University website.

COVID 19: How UoSS currently functions

Below are the most frequently asked questions by the academic community. We hope that the following answers will help you function in the near future. The actions that were undertaken by the University authorities serve the purpose of eliminating the possibility of the virus spreading among members of the academic community and their families.

What is the period for the suspension of activities and other planned events?

As suggested by the Polish authorities, on-site classes and other forms of academic activity at UoSS are suspended until May 24th, 2020 including, a possible extension of this period, if circumstances or regulations come into force.

What about student IDs that are valid until March 31st, 2020?

In accordance with the REGULATION OF THE MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION, as of March 12th, 2020, student and doctoral ID cards were automatically extended until May 31st, 2020.

What about the extension of the session, which ends on March 31st, 2020?

As suggested by the Rector of the UoSS, the exam make-up session has been extended to April 30th, 2020

What about student internships due March 31st, 2020?

The necessity to fulfill student internships has been extended to April 30th, 2020. The suspension of classes also applies to student internships carried out outside the University. During the period when contacts are not available and classes are not running, the Academic Career Office is closed.

Will there be an additional fee for late returned books to the Library?

The library does not charge any fees for delay in return of borrowed books for the suspension of period.

What about submitting ready Diploma projects?

During the suspension of classes at the University, submission of diploma projects is done electronically. All papers should be sent to the address of the relevant Dean's Office. For this purpose, a file should be prepared with the diploma thesis and relevant statements in pdf format. If the form of the work requires it, you should also prepare attachments to the thesis in adequate formats (e.g. jpg, mp3, mp4, etc.). In the subject of the message it is necessary to enter the name of the author of the work, field of study and study mode, as well as the album number. Otherwise, the message addressed to the Dean's Office may be treated as SPAM.

Please be sure that the decision of the approval of the final form of work by the supervisor reaches the Dean's Office by e-mail. All documents necessary to submit the diploma thesis (i.e. diploma rules, work declarations, etc.) are in the Student Area after logging in (go to the Diploma tab).

Will there be a refund of tuition fees for the period when there will be no classes on site?

The university is working on the online learning process. On Monday, March 16th 2020 you receive an e-mail detailed information on how the classes will be carried out in the form of e-learning. The training program will be completed in accordance with Guidelines for the studies covered, thereby in accordance with your contract; as a result, the conditions, along with the schedule of tuition fees does not change.

Will the semester be extended? Will the organization of the academic year will be changed?

UoSS authorities reserve the right to change the organization of the academic year, if necessary. For now, we are not making decisions on this matter. All available information is published on the University website.
